Work in Progress
A Veiled Faerie ~ Sculpture Number 103
I could tell from these pictures, that the right side of her nose needed some tweaking. And also her bottom eyelids were a bit to thick.
If you can't tell, I'm sculpting her head right onto the top of a paintbrush! LOL! Usually I use a shish-ka-bob skewer, but I lost them! So I resorted to a paintbrush! Hey, it works!

I've now started on her body. I used a sturdy wire, laced together forming the neck, arms and legs. I also added a metal rod extending up her right leg, for support so she can stand.

She is SOOO in need of help at this point! LOL! She's got some serious thighs compared to that itty bitty belly!! :) But with time, I'll be fixing that! In the mean time, I have baked her head. I worked SO hard on that little face, I didn't want to ruin it!
Now getting her pose together, although knowing me, it may change some! Ya never know! She keeps talking to me, but somehow I'm just not sure what she's saying!

I've started working on her feet, thought I'd show you how I do it. Look at those ankles! Pretty hefty and quite bumpy! Basically I use a scalpel, and cut the lines of the toes first. Then using ball tipped tool, I push the little dimples at the top of the toe, and groves up to the center of the foot.
So last night, I attached her head. I'm still trying to find the right pose for this little lady! She's a difficult one!
Now, as you can see, I severed her poor little leg! Something about her posture just wasn't working for me! So of course, I'll be fixing this soon!

By the looks of her head, I noticed that it had grown quite flat in the back from too much handling! So I've added some clay to the back of her head. I've fixed her left leg, and added another foot! I've also changed her pose some (AGAIN!), which, in all honesty may not be her final pose (blush). I seem to be misreading this lovely faerie's wishes for her stance! But never fear, she will be with us soon!

Well, so far you can see, that I've baked this little lady. She was getting pretty hard to work with without messing up all of her carefully sculpted features without smooshing them!! So I baked her, and I've as you can plainly see, I've also started the cleaning up processes. Now I know, I know... she's missing her hands! This too indeed will be done by tomorrow. But look at the pictures, I feel she has a very nice shape, not too skinny! Somewhat similar to my own (well, exept for the fact that she has BREASTS!! LOL! But sensually curvy and I LOVE it!
She definitely still needs some work though, I won't deny that one! But hey! At least I've gotten her standing (and very well I might add!)
Sunday, July 6!
Happy 4th of July everyone! What a crazy weekend I've had!! But I had a little bit of time to work on my litte lady! I've finished her hands, did some finishing touches, and have done the final bake! Yeehaw! LOL!! Here she is! Now, she has some little white area's on her, that's because I've been sanding on her and cleaning her up. Rest assure, those white marks will NOT be there!

She's almost done! I added her hair last night, made some final painting touches (using fine artist acrylic oils), and got her standing on her base. Her hair still needs some help, and I'm in the process now of making her clothes and wings!

She's done!!!

More to come soon!
